New Releases for Lightbox2!
New releases of the Lightbox2 module have been made - versions 5.x-2.8 and 6.x-1.8. There were quite a number of changes in these releases, including a whole bunch of new features including inline / modal content support, ability to change the lightbox colour, and much much more. A number of bugs were also fixed, including area tags not being fully supported and emfield image width and height settings not being followed.
New features added include:
- #141867 - Ability to open node page without sidebars in an iframe.
Drupal "Lightbox" Type Module Comparsion

There are various modules in Drupal which provide "lightbox" type functionality. These modules usually use JavaScript to overlay images on the current page when clicked upon, which has the advantage of being able to show users the large version of a thumbnail image while keeping them on the same page. However, there are a number of these modules available, each quite similar but some have more features, while others are more lightweight or have better browser support.

New releases of the Lightbox2 module have been made - versions 5.x-2.7 and 6.x-1.7. There were quite a number of changes in these releases, including some new features such as Embedded Media Field support for images and videos, improved Gallery 2 support and the ability to open CCK images and automatically handled images in an iframe. A number of bugs were also fixed, including imagecache 1 issues and navigation of grouped images in IE.
New features added include:
- Support for Embedded Media Field images.
- Support for Embedded Media Field videos.
- Improved support for Gallery 2 images.
- Ability to open cck images and automatically handled images in an iframe.
- Ability to configure the default width and height of the iframe.

New releases of the Lightbox2 module have been made - versions 5.x-2.6 and 6.x-1.6. There were quite a number of changes in these releases, including some major new features such as slideshow and video support. A number of bugs were also fixed, including the rather annoying conflict with the Google Analytics module in Firefox in Drupal 6.
New features added include:
- Slideshow support.
- Video support.
- Support for showing html pages in an iframe.
- New zoom keyboard shortcut.
- New play/pause keyboard shortcut.
